Let there be dark

Let me lie in the night, next to mother void,
Against the cruelty of a world that only sees joy.
To play a part for the many, an hypocrisy,
I reject the light and its heresy;
Solace is mine, in the depths of my own hue,
Darkness, a haven for the wounded, a refuge.
How can light be pure, free from shadow’s decree,
When society shuns the dark, rejecting me?
